HR - Heavy Rigid Truck Licence: This licence authorizes the operation of a truck or bus (including a prime mover or a mobile crane) exceeding 8.0 tons GVM with 3 or more axles, or an articulated bus.
Note: You are also permitted to tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 9t GVM. Eligibility Criteria: You must have held a car licence for a minimum of 24 months (at least 2 years Green Plates) and pass the Heavy Vehicle theory test with Qld Transport, which can be taken concurrently with your practical driving test. Transport QLD Quiz: There are three types of HR Licences: Heavy Rigid Open - Condition A (HRA): Exclusively for automatic transmissions. Heavy Rigid Open - Condition B (HRB): Limited to Syncromesh (single clutch like a manual car) and automatic transmissions. Heavy Rigid Open - Non Restricted: For Non Syncromesh (Double Clutch per gear change - Road Ranger/Crash Box) -
